Welcome to Sorted Skin.
We are a microbiome-based skincare brand for people with sensitive, irritated or problem-prone skin – and we deliberately do things differently.
When skin is out of balance, daily life is often directly affected. That's why we didn't want to develop products that only "soothe" in the short term and ultimately worsen the actual problem.
We don't rely on concealing, over-treating or aggressive solutions. And we also don't believe in simply suppressing the skin's natural reaction.
Our approach is simple:
We give the skin what it really needs so that it can stabilize itself again.
Sorted Skin products combine naturally active ingredients with prebiotics. This supports the skin in the long term – gentle enough for daily use, even several times a day if necessary.
If you want to know how Sorted Skin came about, our founder Tim Driver tells the story here.
In conversation with Tim Driver, founder of Sorted Skin
Tim, how did you get into skincare?
I am Tim Driver, founder of Sorted Skin.
I grew up in Yorkshire, in an environment with many family-run businesses. That's why it was clear to me early on that I wanted to build something myself at some point. At 18, I started with my father in the field of tanning lotions – that's how I got into the skincare industry.
Since then, I have worked with many brands in skincare, haircare and beauty. In recent years, I have also been involved in co-developing and launching well-known brands for problem skin internationally.
Sorted Skin is basically the result of many years of experience and the desire to make skincare more honest and meaningful.
Why your own brand? What was your idea behind it?
When you work in the industry for a long time, you eventually see pretty clearly what's missing.
I have often experienced how strongly skin problems can affect self-confidence and also the mental burden in everyday life. That was a big motivation for me: I wanted to develop products that really help people – not just in the short term, but in the long run.
Many brands work with very strong active ingredients, which can help in some cases, but with regular use can also cause new irritations or consequential problems.
I deliberately wanted to go a different way: a clear, uncomplicated brand without unnecessary frills. A brand that supports the skin instead of overwhelming it – with prebiotic nutrients and ingredients that strengthen the skin barrier.
That's exactly what Sorted Skin stands for.
Everything your skin needs. Nothing it doesn't.
What makes Sorted Skin different from other skincare brands?
Our focus is on skin health – not on empty promises.
The skin can regulate a lot itself. But environmental pollution, allergens and also overly aggressive products can weaken the skin's natural protective function. Then it reacts more sensitively, drier or more irritated.
Sorted Skin is about bringing the skin back into balance. We develop products that support the skin barrier and work reliably in everyday life.
Our motto is therefore:
A balanced diet for your skin
We put skin health first. Because healthy skin not only looks better, it also feels better.
Many people with problem skin eventually resort to pharmacy products or prescription solutions. These often provide quick relief, but are not always intended for long-term daily use.
Sorted Skin is the gentle, natural alternative for daily care.
How did you find the right ingredients?
With a lot of research, time and patience.
I was lucky enough to work with very good cosmetic chemists and biomedical scientists over the years. This knowledge was extremely valuable for Sorted Skin – especially in the selection of natural ingredients that support the microbiome and the skin barrier.
It was clear to me from the beginning: I didn't just want to launch another product. It should be a care that noticeably helps, works in everyday life and can be used regularly – even several times a day, without additionally burdening the skin.
That was a longer road. And yes, there were setbacks – especially during the pandemic. But precisely because of this, we ultimately found ingredients and formulations that we truly stand behind today.
If you had to choose a favorite product from the range – which one would it be?
Definitely our 5 in 1 Anti-Redness Day Cream.
This was the first product we developed, and at the same time one of the most demanding. It took a lot of time to cleanly balance the five key benefits in one formula, without compromising on texture, effect and finish.
After 25 versions, we had the formulation we wanted.
The result is a product that not only visually balances redness, but also addresses the causes.
So you can use it with a good feeling – not just for covering up, but as genuine care.
How would you describe Sorted Skin in three words?
Uncomplicated
Reliable
Approachable
What would you generally like to see different in the skincare industry?
Fewer false promises.
In skincare, a lot is sold through marketing – and often too little is said about true skin health. No cream will make someone 20 years younger. And such statements ultimately help no one.
I wish that the focus would again be more on understanding one's own skin, protecting it and caring for it in a meaningful way.
Because that's exactly what ensures that skin stays healthy and feels good in the long term.
I hope that Sorted Skin can be a part of this rethinking.
